Shoah Day in Spain

I was very happy to participate, for the first time, in the Shoah Day in Madrid. This event was launched five years ago by the Socialist Government in Spain and more precisely by the Minister of FFAA, M.A Moratinos.

Of course there are still no words to describe or understand what the period from 1933 to 1945 was all about, but we, as human beings, are obliged to work on keeping this memory alive in order to avoid a reoccurrence of this most horrible period of human history.

That means we need to be very active and always pass on to our children and society what we know about what happened during those years.
In my family we also lost one member, the brother of my grand mother, Isaac Serour as he was captured in Marseille and sent to Sobibor.

So for me it is also with sadness for what happened but pride to be able to keep this alive in our family.

I also recommend, for those who are interested in doing their part, the book about Jan Karski - the first ever witness who travelled around the world to inform the allies, Roosevelt, Churchill and many others but who was ignored intentionally.
